Based on his few short moments in the trailer, I'm now very much looking forward to Damien Molony on Ripper Street. I mean, I was looking forward to it anyway because I watched the first series a few weeks back and enjoyed it quite a bit overall and I would keep watching regardless, but Damien Molony in a confessional. Yes, please.

Also, finally a promo shot of him for this show that I actually like (though I think Adam Rothenberg still wins the lineup for me with that head tilt).

Also also, the trailer leads me to believe, based on the similar reaction shots from both Jackson and Damien Molony's character (what is his name? Flight? Flight.) that they're drawing parallels between the two and connecting them both to Drake's statement regarding a bad man going good and um, yes. I would be totally on board with the idea of another miniature (sorry Damien, you're kinda short for this show) Irish version of Jackson.

(Also also also, I did not realize that Adam Rothenberg had done a whole bunch of theatre before apparently heading to the UK for this show. I just googled him and found pictures of him with Santino Fontana, Uzo Aduba, Lily Rabe, and Matthew Maher [who I mostly only ever remember because he has a bit of a speech impediment...and also he randomly happened to be in the last three off-broadway plays I've gone to see with my friend D] doing various theatre-y things. I approve.)

Yes! I'm very excited about it. I thought he was just a guest role in one or two episodes, but based on the trailer and the promo stuff it's seeming more and more that he'll be recurring throughout the whole season (or 7 of the 8 eps, at least, according to IMDB...although IMDB doesn't list any of the actors for this show as appearing in the first episode of series 2, so maybe he'll be in all 8. Who knows. Either way, excited!)

I haven't seen this show before (and now it's a little late to be catching up) but I'm planning to watch the Damien bits at least. XD I was a bit skeptical, but daaamn, the promo makes a convincing argument. ;) Confessional, mrr. XD

I mostly decided to give the show a shot because I knew that Damien would be in the second series, but I did end up enjoying it quite a bit on its own. The previous promo photos of Damien just made him look so...layered and combed and kinda frumpy. So while I was certainly interested, I was mostly just moderately looking forward to it. Some of the tidbits that have started popping up regarding the character definitely started to increase my interest levels though, and then, yes, that confessional bit was an excellent choice for inclusion in the trailer.

I can't handle too many cop shows at once, not even in historical setting. But if I don't like it, I can always do what I do with most of Andrew Gower's works: watch the relevant bits and skip the rest. XD
